Church Profile

The ICF is an international, inter-denominational, English-speaking, independent Christian church. The people of the ICF community come from more than 30 nationalities and many more denominations. They are in Cambodia as development workers with a wide range of roles, missionaries also with a wide range of involvements, teachers and lecturers, various other professionals, and some business and diplomatic people. The majority work for Christian agencies. Most are evangelical - broadly understood. The ICF has a strong commitment to prayer, to unity across the body of Christ, to playing a supportive role for the many ministries God has raised up for Cambodia.

ICF Worship Altogether there are approximately 450 adults and over 100 children associated with the ICF. Each Sunday there are two services; the morning service was started in October 2003 and attendance this month averages over 100. The afternoon service has been operational since the mid-1980s and average attendance is over 200. Both services include a Sunday School. There are a number of home groups associated with the ICF though many home groups are either agency based or informal gatherings of expatriate people from various churches both international and national. In partnership with other international churches in Phnom Penh, the ICF has two international youth groups; one middle school (grades 6-8) and the other grade 9 and up.

Most ICF people are involved in ministry and mission work through the agencies with which they work. Most take this pretty seriously. The ICF has an important pastoral and support role and in some cases a mentoring role. The ICF has been effective in facilitating a couple of partnerships especially in the area of leadership training for Cambodian pastors. One of the concerns of the ICF is to ensure good relationships with the Cambodian church and to provide whatever support is possible. The ICF has consistently been a strong and significant support to a wide range of development activities and church building ministries. The ICF has a particularly strong emphasis on facilitating and promoting unity – Christian unity is at the heart of the character of the ICF. The ICF reflects a strong commitment to holistic engagement in all the many ways Christians are working in and for Cambodia.

Leadership of the ICF is in a Council of Elders with the pastor included in its membership. The Pastor is Rev. Graham Chipps who has been in the position since January 1996. Graham has a number of involvements outside the ICF that usually mean working with ICF members in national church leadership training or development work.
