'New Creation'. (The Big Picture Bible Overview, topic #13)
We've reached the end of our 'Big Picture' Bible overview series with our final topic this week, which is 'New Creation'.
God's people, in the New Creation, will finally perfectly and permanently be God's People in God's Place under God's Rule! This final installment is part 13 of our series and we have referred to 15 ideas as we've skimmed through the Bible. Those 15 ideas are:
Creation Fall Pledge / Covenant Exodus Law Land Kings Prophets Exile Jesus’ Life Jesus’ Death Jesus’ Resurrection (life) Pentecost Jesus’ Return New Creation
1) Take as long as you need as a group to retell (summarise) the biblical story under those headings. Can you recall or name parts of the Bible which highlight those themes (e.g. Creation - Genesis 1-2).
2) What is God's plan in this unfolding story? (hint: G _ _ ' _ P _ _ _ _ _ in G _ _ ' _ P _ _ _ _ under G _ _ ' _ R _ _ _).
3) You now have a 'Biblical Theology'. i.e. an understanding of the nature, will, and plan of God in creation and redemption, including therefore also the nature, purpose, and ‘story’ of humanity as it is described through the Bible.
4) It all comes to its fulfillment in Revelation 21 & 22. Read Revelation 21 & 22.
5) Take some time to try to imagine what heaven might be like- perhaps in silence. Share your thoughts.
6) What is the focus or essence of heaven? (hint: It's connected with seeing God & being with God).
7) Relationships, which are the essence of heaven, will be renewed and restored in heaven. What three categories of relationships are renewed in heaven? (they are the same three that were broken in the fall).
8) Can you imagine PERFECT relationships? I'm not sure I can - but ALL relationships will be perfect in heaven!
9) Spend some time thanking God for all his blessings!
🔹In Christ Alone 🔹 Benediction // “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.” (Revelation 7:12, NLT) ________

15th November 2020 | Jesus' Return
Hi ICF family,
Thanks for joining us today for our online service! In today’s ‘The Big Picture’ Bible overview topic we’ll be looking at ‘Jesus’ Return’ and how we should respond to it.
Our little challenge to you this week is to pay it forward. Think about the first person that pops into your head and send them a quick message to say hi and encourage them. Let’s spread the love this morning!
We also need to vote about re-appointing our Pastor as his initial contract expires this month. The ICF Council has unanimously recommended and endorsed that he be reappointed. We vote online this week via a Google form that will be emailed to you today and that will also be on our Facebook page. A Pastor feedback form (not formally a part of the process) can also be completed by regular members of ICF via this link https://forms.gle/4vmmh9gaG8gGVB268.
As we plan for meeting together at our AGM on the 29th, and for our in-person services in December, we’ll need volunteers to help check temperatures, sign people in, usher and help oversee the protocols laid out by the Ministry of Health. If you’d like to help in this very practical way, please email phnompenhicf@gmail.com.
Lastly our Zoom Coffee & Conversation chat is on after the service at about 10.50am, so please do join us for a quick chat. Meeting ID: 865 3733 4373 Passcode: 894255
Please use the outline below in your own time, and see you at 10.00am.

🔹 Discussion questions:
'Jesus' Return'. (The Big Picture Bible Overview, topic #12)
Jesus is coming back!
1) How often do you think about Jesus' return? When you think about it carefully how confident are you that Jesus will come back?
2) As we come to this 2nd last topic in our 'Big Picture' Bible Overview we've now reached events that are still in the future.
3) These passages tell us about Jesus' return. What do they tell us about: - It's certainty? - What it will be like? - What we should do as we await his return?
4) God's 'Big Picture' rescue plan is nearly complete! What areas of life do you need to make changes in to be more ready for Jesus' return?
5) Pray about these, pray for each other and for Jesus' return in Glory. Pray for more and more people to come to faith as God patiently waits.
🔹Crown Him with Many Crowns 🔹 Benediction // Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 24-25) ________

Welcome to our service today! We’re so glad you could join us for church this morning as we take a closer look at the topic of ‘Pentecost’ in today’s message. We hope the reminder of God graciously giving the Holy Spirit to us will encourage you in your walk with Him.
Also don’t forget to say ‘hi’ in the live comments at 10.00am! We would also love if you could comment one thing that you’ve done this week that brings you happiness. Or tell us one thing you’ve purposely done this week to cheer yourself up. We’ve also now received permission to meet in person at the Diakonia Centre, and our first meeting will be our AGM on 29th November. This meeting is for our regular ICF members, who’ve been in country and more details on how you can be a part of that will be shared in the weeks to come. All the normal restrictions as laid out by the Ministry of Health will still apply.
We also need to vote about re-appointing our Pastor as his initial contract expires in November and the Council has recommended he be reappointed. We vote online between November 15th & 22nd. 'Pentecost'. (The Big Picture Bible Overview, topic #11)
'Pentecost' is the term we use to refer to the occasion on which the Holy Spirit was 'poured out' on the first Christians.
1) What is 'Pentecost' and what does it mean? Do some research (using a study bible or bible dictionary) to find out both what it means and what was happening in Jerusalem at the feast.
2) Read Acts 2. Which Old Testament passage is quoted in Chapter 2? How did the events of Pentecost fulfil it?
3) Jeremiah 31:31-34 is also fulfilled in Acts 2. How is the presence of the Holy Spirit with believers now different from His presence in the Old Testament?
4) The giving of the Holy Spirit to Christians provides us with the power to witness to Jesus and He also helps us grow spiritual fruit. How do you see these things in Acts 1:8, Acts 2:14-47 and Galatians 5:22-25?
5) In Acts 2:42-47 the disciples give their attention to a number of things as they serve Jesus. What are some things that you need to give your attention to serve Jesus better?
🔹Yet Not I But Through Christ in Me 🔹 Benediction // Go forth into a world divided. Yet know that God dwells even there, in all places, in this time. And also know that there is no real division for everything is in God and God is with all. We are one in God’s oneness. Be aware of that sacred presence. Let it strengthen you. Let it transform you. Build shalom. Love with abandon. Abide in peace. (Diana Butler Bass) __________________ Tithes and offerings: Thank you for your special efforts to pass on your tithes and offerings during this time. It’s great to see you at our service today. Last Sunday’s message was about the saddest day - Jesus’ Death and today we’re following on with the happiest day – Jesus’ LIFE-The Resurrection!
We’ll also be having Communion during the service so please do have some bread and grape juice or wine ready so you can follow along from home. While we wait for official permission from the Diakonia Centre to resume in-person meetings, we do encourage you to get together with other ICF members or families to watch the service together in your home. If you’re interested in hosting please email phnompenhicf@gmail.com and likewise if you’re interested in joining such a group, send us a message and we’ll do our best to connect you with the group nearest to you.
It may be that the first opportunity we’ll have to meet in person at the Diakonia Centre is for our AGM on 29th November. We’ll still have AGM on the 29th whether it’s in person or online so please mark that date in your calendar. More details will be sent out in the coming weeks.
We also need to vote about re-appointing our Pastor as his initial contract expires in November and the Council has recommended he be reappointed. We vote online between November 15th & 22nd. 'Jesus’ LIFE - the resurrection. (The Big Picture Bible Overview, topic #10)
Jesus is alive! The Messiah's saving work has been vindicated. God, in His grace, has done all that is necessary to save his people.
To help with this week's study have a look at 'bibleproject.com' and search for the video called 'The Messiah'. It's helpful in terms of seeing God's big picture.
1) Read John 20:1-18 (and other resurrection accounts if you like). Note how overwhelmingly unexpected and amazing Jesus' resurrection was for the disciples even though Jesus had told them clearly that it would happen.
2) Jesus' resurrection tells us much about the person and work of Jesus. Read the following passages and discuss what they tell us about Jesus. - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 - Acts 17:31 - Romans 1:3-4 - Philippians 2:9-11 - 1 Peter 1:21
3) All of God's promises are fulfilled in Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20). Have a look, for example at Hebrews chapters 7 and 8 to see how Jesus fulfills God's purposes.
4) I encourage you to take time to be thankful for all the promises of God (that you can think of) that Jesus fulfills.
🔹Here I am to Worship 🔹 Benediction // Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17) __________________ Tithes and offerings: Thank you for your special efforts to pass on your tithes and offerings during this time.
